Computer monitor with April 2010 Wallpaper calendarA stone banked mountain brook meanders through a green forested meadow in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Can you hear the water as it dances over the pebbles? Can you smell the green grass and pine scented air? Let yourself float down the gentle stream of a high mountain meadow and disappear around the bend into the wild Rocky Mountains.

Here is your new desktop calendar for April 2010. If you would like to purchase this photograph you can find the information on the archival quality fine art photo of Bubbling Brook here. I hope you enjoy your free calendar!

The Shroud and other Useful Links about Turin

Easter is coming but another big event is going to happen in Turin: the Shroud of Turin (link to Wikipedia) Exposition. I think this could be a good occasion to visit Turin, a city full of rich historical itineraries that was World Design Capital 2008.

The Shroud is displayed every 25 years and you're Catholic or not, you can’t miss to be fascinated by something so ancient and mysterious. The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man.
This is a real Catholic event but not only. Turin is a charming and elegant city that you really want to visit. So why missing this opportunity?
The next public exhibition is going to take place 10 April 2010 through 23 May 2010.

I want to thank Mr. Joann S. Keane, owner/travel specialist of the Keane International Impressions, that kindly asked me if he can use my watercolor Turin card to promote this event and the tour organized by his travel agency, publishing my sketch on his website and on the Catholic San Francisco digital paper,
I’ve been glad of agree with his request.

By the way, is my pleasure as Turin citizen to suggest some useful links to anyone is going to visit where I live:

turismotorino http://www.turismotorino.org/

turismabile http://www.turismabile.it/en/

torinopiupiemonte http://www.torinopiupiemonte.com/index.php?lingua=en&tpl=home

visitatorino http://www.visitatorino.com/en/index.php

The link to the airport useful to monitoring all flights:
airport http://www.aeroportoditorino.it/EN/voli/default.php

The link to the public transportations with fares and itineraries:
gtt http://www.comune.torino.it/gtt/index.shtml

You can find public transportation info also through Google Maps.

I think those links could be a good start. Visitors have to find their way to discover and Turin offers a wide range of opportunities: from the tasty chocolate to the historical palaces till the magical forces in their eternal fight.
I hope you will enjoy the visit!

Playful Dogs in the Snow

a framed photo of a black dog tracking in the snowDog play is one of the most fun things in the world to watch. And when the weather is cold and snowy my two dogs seem to enjoy their outing even more. It all starts with an invitation. You see, dogs have a language all their own. When a rump goes up with tail wagging and then the dog bows it means "let's play!"

Purple Dreams

a purple narrow leaf penstemon flowerTechnically purple is a large range of different shades between red and blue. But purple has many other meanings too. It brings a chaotic variety of things to my mind.

Purple is associated with royalty, nobility, spirituality, mystery and imagination. I think of flowers; violets, iris, lavender, lilacs, and orchids. And who does not think of grapes! There are childhood memories of grape Popsicles®, soda, bubble gum, and juice. And also from childhood, who has not read to their child "Harold and the Purple Crayon." Do you remember the "Purple People Eater?" What about "Purple Haze" and "Deep Purple?"

To celebrate this wonderful color I have chosen some of the very best purple photography from the Photographers of Etsy. Enjoy the beauty of purple and be sure to click and visit their shops.
