Enchanted Forest - Friday Features

A misty spring morning in a mountain forest of the Rockies of Colorado creates a fairy tale landscape where you can almost see the forest elves peeking out from behind tall majestic pines. It rained all night, a rare event in the semi-arid American West. It put me to sleep and was still drizzling when I awoke. Although the forest was damp and gloomy, it was also enchanting with mist and fog swirling through the trees as if inviting unseen creatures to briefly appear among the tall trunks. It inspired this woodland collection of charming items. Be sure to click on the item for more information or the artist's name to visit their shop. Enjoy!

March Hare

Small watercolor print of rabbit."Mad as a March Hare" was a common phrase in Lewis Carroll's time and thus was born the character in his famous book, Alice in Wonderland. I have always loved this book as well as the companion book, Through the Looking Glass, since I was a child. So naturally I had to see the recent Alice in Wonderland movie starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. I was charmed by Tim Burton's original approach to the characters of Wonderland. So in honor of March and the irrepressible hare, here are a few of my favorites from the handmade artisans of Etsy.

Lizard Love

Lizards have gotten cute lately. You know, the little guy that sells insurance for instance. Personally, I have always thought they were cute little creatures the way they cling to every imaginable surface. Did you know that the largest lizard is a Komodo dragon. Or that the smallest is a dwarf gecko. It is so small it can fit on the tip of your finger! Click here for more interesting fun facts on lizards. In the meantime, enjoy some lizard inspired art for your home or to wear.

Friday Favorites - Country Charm

I spent my childhood in the farm country of Ohio. Old falling down red barns, kool aid stands, wildflowers in mason jars, and anything recycled and homemade were the norm. This collection gives me a warm fuzzy feeling as cuddly as one of those teddy bears. The only thing missing is my Uncle Russ cranking up a batch of homemade ice cream. Enjoy a day in farm country!

Friday Favorites - Pearlescent

I love the iridescent quality of pearls. The light is refracted into blues, lavenders, golds, and pinks complimenting everything you are wearing. Although these products are all very different they remind me of that pearlescent luster in their soft colors and hues. I hope you will visit each one. There are some incredible bargains here!
